I am no makeup expert, I keep it very simple. My skin is prone to breakouts, I finally have it under control, so if I switch any products I know that was the source and it’s time to try a different one. This happened in the fall when some one at the Ulta store recommended Bare Minerals original primer. After just one use my forehead broke out so I decided to do some research and find something better. I googled best make up for breakout prone skin. There were so many articles and its so hard to figure out what is true and what’s not. On one of the list I saw the brand Ilia beauty, which I had recognized from Dani Austin’s instagram. She is honest with her make up recommendations and after exploring the website, I liked what they had to offer. I took their skin tone matching quiz and placed my order.
My Simple Everyday Makeup:
Primer:
After I wash my face and put on some cream and sunscreen I give the primer bottle a good shake and then apply primer and let it dry for one minute. It is importuned to let it dry to allow all the benefits the product olds. The True Skin Radiant Priming Serum is silicone free and is made with ingredients that protect rom harmful environmental factors that cause aging. Once you put it on your skin you feel your skin tighten just a little as it blurs the look of any pores and fine lines too. I like it a lot, I also feel like it creates softer skin after days of use.
Concealer:
Once the primer has dried, I apply concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes or red spots. I blend that in with a round brush. I use the true skin serum concealer in shade —
Foundation:
I don’t like heavy make up, I prefer when it sits light on my skin. I went back and forth between the super serum skin tint and the true skin serum fountain. In the end I went with the skin tint because it was the lights coverage option and I prefer the no make up makeup look. Shake the bottle well then fill the dropper and drop it on your face. It is runny so, do your make up before you get dressed incase it drips. I only had it happen to me once. So, I drip and rub with the dropper a little bit to help with running. Last blend it all together with the foundation brush from ilia. I wear shade—
Eyes:
When applying make-up to my eyes, this is where I do different things depending on the day or event. I really like this palate from tart. (eyes) I have the happiness palate. Typically, I use the lighter colors or the slightly shimmery ones depending what I am feeling that day.
I started using dime for mascara when I got it in the set that helps promote growth for your eyelashes. I love this set, I used the growth serum every night when I get ready for bed and am currently on my second tube of mascara. It goes on nice, adds volume and then lasts all day long. (Dime set linked here).
Setting spray:
To top off the look and make sure it lasts all day, especially if I am in and out of a mask I give my face a quick spray with ilia setting spray, the blue light skincare face mist. Not only does it set your make up it protects your skin from the blue light from computers, phones and more. I shake the bottle spray my face and then take my brush and pat it in!
After all that I am set for the day! Typically I can get through this routine in 5-8 minutes if I don’t get distracted. Making it the perfect early morning routine before I head out the door to fieldwork. I hope you found some helpful tips and new products that might be fun for you to try! The are all linked below!
