Ever since I was a little girl picking out my first day of school outfit has been something I looked forward to each summer. I would go shopping and pick out a new dress or skirt. I always made sure I had a great first day outfit. Looking back their was some great outfits I would still wear today and other that are a little cringe worthy. Today, I am sharing 5 of my go to back to school outfits along side my friend Katelyn from Seersucker in SoCal, check out her blog here!
First day:
This first outfits is something I would wear on the first day of school, I still might this year even if it is just to my home office for online class. This dress is from Pink Lily, they have a ton of causal dress that make for the perfect dress to wear to school with a pair of sneakers. I paired it with a jean jacket since most building have AC and are a little chilly. Going back to school is exciting and sad since it’s the end of summer but being cold all day is not worth it. Which is why I always have a jacket or sweater with my no matter the outfit.
Day 2:
My next outfit is this fun ruffle top I got at target years ago paired with my go to J Crew jeans and my new shoes from Tuckernuck. I love these shoes, I am so excited about all the outfits I can make with them this fall. This outfit is perfect for a day of going to class and the Library or lunch with friends in between classes. As I mentioned before I would definitely throw a navy cardigan in my bag incase I get chilly.
Day 3:
Shep Shirt // Leggings // Sneakers
By day 3 of school it will be time for a more comfortable outfit. I was gifted these leggings for my birthday and I loved them. I am wearing them in a size small and they fit true to size. These leggings also come in a leopard print and polk dots. They are not made for working out but they are perfect for class and lounging around. As for my step shirt I am wearing a medium, I think they run a little small and shrink in the dryer so I recommend sizing up. I paired this outfit with my Rothy’s which I love, they fit true to size, I am wearing my true size a 7.5. This outfit will be in heavy rotation in my school life this semester since I don’t actually have to go to class but even in I did I would wear this outfit.
Day 4:
Shorts // Body Suit // Sweater // Necklace
Since when school starts its still technically summer there are days that still call for outfits with shorts. I paired these paper bag shorts with my favorite body suit and a tan cardigan. I am wearing a small in all parts of this outfit and they all fit true to size. These shorts are both comfortable and stylish making them the perfect pair of shorts for sitting in class all day. I love that I can bring them from the summer days to to the early weeks of the school year by pairing them with different tops and sweaters.
Days 5:
Shorts // shoes // bag // Sweater // headband
My last outfit is one of my favorites, I love pairing shorts with sweaters as the weather begins to get chillier. This sweater is so soft and comfortable with endless outfit possibilities. I am wearing a size medium in this sweater and it fits a little big but I sized up from my normal size small to make it a little more comfortable and longer. I paired this outfit with my bow slides from Tuckernuck which I love. The gingham and the bow make them such a fun statement piece for any outfit. The idea that I can wear these in the beginning weeks of the school year is so exciting to me.
Back to school is going to look very different than in years past. We will either be online or in person but being plexiglass and masks. Personally I am online but I still plan on getting dressed each day for class in some way.
