Happy Monday! This week on A College Series Shannon and I are talking all about time management.
Personally ever since March I feel like my time management skills have gone out the window. With the world around me starting to open back up its definitely important to get back on the horse and manage my time!
Summer jobs are starting, we are allowed to see people again and life is going to start becoming the new normal. No matter what is going on in the world I alway lean towards using a planner. I use a planner to help organize all the things I need to do. Whether it be school assignments or summer job schedules I always find myself writing it all in my planner.
During the school year I assign each class a color and use my syllabus to organize my planner at the start of each semester. As for the summer I use color to organize my summer jobs, each family I babysit for and other important events going on.
Time management can be a tricky thing, I find it best when the things I have to do have a time set for them. For example a work out class starts at 10:15 and goes until 11:15. allowing me to plan the rest of my days plans around it. When I was at school I would book study rooms for 4 hour chunks and I would go do work for the 4 hours or until I complete my to do list for that day.
When it comes to getting things done I either to them super early or right before they are do. Usually if I do not want to work on Something then I avoid it until the last possible second. This is something I plan on working on this summer and in the fall when classes start up again!
Everyone managers their time differently but I think its important to find a way that works best for you. Make sure to check out Shannon’s way!
As for me the best way is to assign time for activities and use time blocking. An old fashion planner does just that or if you want to get a little more technical you can use google calendar. Time blocking, To-do list, and color coating are my go to things for time management! What are yours? Comment below to share!

I’m in a similar boat! This is definitely helpful in trying to get back to some normalcy.
