I love making homemade cupcakes but sometimes time just doesn’t allow for it. My brother also loves cupcakes from a box with box icing. Recently, I came across this hack that elevates your box cupcake recipe. All you need for this is a box of cake mix. I used funfetti cake mix this time and vanilla frosting with sprinkles. I made them for my cousins drive by birthday party and all her friends loved them.Below you will find the directions for the traditional box recipe and my new hack.
Back of the Box Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup of Oil
- 1 cup of water
Hack Ingredients:
- 5 eggs
- 1 cup melted butter (substitute melted butter and double .5:1)
- 1 cup of Milk (water to milk 1:1)
Directions: (same as the ones on the box)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put all cupcake liners in the pan or grease the pans if making a cake.
- Melt butter
- Put Melted butter, Milk, eggs, and cake mix in a bowl and mix until smooth
- scoop mix in to cupcake pans
- Bake cupcakes for 19-23
- let cool, ice and enjoy!
