WOW! It is pretty crazy to think that I am a junior in college. The most fun part of this years living situation is I have a kitchen. No more dinning hall, for the most part! This on campus apartment houses 5 girls, 2 doubles and a single. I am in one of the doubles. As for my actual room in said apartment, I went with a navy, gold and light pink theme!
To start the tour of my side of my double room. We walk in the door and my side of the room is off to the left. As you enter you see the armoire which is the oddest think the the world. I have 3 little drawers, 3 and a half large shelves and lastly a side area for hanging clothes. Since it only has one door, I had to add a curtain to the side with selves just incase I ever get a little messy as well as to protect my shoes and clothes. Some how I managed to fit all my clothes in this odd armoire. I just worry as it gets cold and clothes become thicker I will have less room and then we may have an issue.
To continue the tour, my full length mirror which you definitely see a lot of on the blog this year. This mirror is from Target 3 summers ago, which I then spray painted gold to match the theme. The pink Scout boxes are the perfect storage bin as well as seat for guests.
Next to the mirror is my quote board, bulletin board and two decorations from Bungalow Road. I made the bulletin board with all of my old Lilly Pulitzer planners over the years. I love it so much that I don’t even ever end up using it because I don’t want to put holes in it.
To the right of my window I have a row of 6 Melsy’s Illustrations. I picked these up last Christmas at their Bryant Park pop up Christmas shop. I love them so much and I am dying to buy more to add to the collection.
This one sums up what I look like every time I go anywhere for more than one night.
The main event of this tour is my bed. My headboard is the same as last year it was just recovered in Navy fabric that my aunt monogrammed. My duvet cover is actually from Pottery Barn kids, it is the perfect navy gingham so I decide I did not care it was from the kids department. The sham is also form Pottery Barn kids. A husband pillow is a must in college and I am not sure why anyone could ever live with out one. I love using mine it makes studying and watching tv in bed much easier. The throw pillows are on my bed one is from Lilly Pulitzer and the other was a birthday gift from my aunt.
The length of the room made the placement of my bed and the desk a tad odd so I got this cube to completer the lay out of the room. I picked up this 4 cube night stand from target for less than $50. It fits perfectly, my books fit all in one cube my computer and such fit in the next. Each cub was filled and it works so easily.
Last up is the desk, I do a lot of work there so this year I got my own chair to make my school work a little more fun and comfortable.
I am very happy with how this room came out, and I can’t wait to continue to get used to this room as the semester goes on, especially cooking my own food in the kitchen.
