Cookie Cutter Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Butter softened
  • 1 cup White grandulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Baking powder

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F
  • Cream together the butter and suger with a mixer until smooth
  • Beat in the vanilla extract and egg
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder and mix together
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients a little at a time and continue using the miser until everythng is combined and the dough is crumbly
  • Wet your hands and knead it by hand, seperate into three balls and cover the remaining dough balls with plastic wrap while you roll. (DO NOT CHILL THE DOUGH)
  • Place dough on floured surface, use a rolling pin to roll the dough out to be ¼ inch thick
  • Use cookie cutters for shapes
  • Bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes ½

Notes

  • If dough is to crumbly add 1/2 a teaspoon of water 
  • 8 minutes for a soft cookie (I usually stick to 8 minutes)
  • I usually double the recipe
