Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Butter softened
  • 1 cup White grandulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Baking powder

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Cream together the butter and suger with a mixer until smooth
  3. Beat in the vanilla extract and egg
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder and mix together
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients a little at a time and continue using the miser until everythng is combined and the dough is crumbly
  6. Wet your hands and knead it by hand, seperate into three balls and cover the remaining dough balls with plastic wrap while you roll. (DO NOT CHILL THE DOUGH)
  7. Place dough on floured surface, use a rolling pin to roll the dough out to be ¼ inch thick
  8. Use cookie cutters for shapes
  9. Bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes ½

Notes

  • If dough is to crumbly add 1/2 a teaspoon of water 
  • 8 minutes for a soft cookie (I usually stick to 8 minutes)
  • I usually double the recipe
